Phil Margolius


Phil, a native Washingtonian, has been practicing law for over 50 years and has been recognized by his peers as one of the Washington area’s best Real Estate lawyers. As an attorney he has been involved in almost every aspect of real estate law. In addition he oversees a large portfolio of real estate investments for his clients and his family, including office buildings, multifamily, hotels and retail. During the 2008 recession when real estate values dropped precipitously, he saw an opportunity to purchase land for future residential development. He sought out the best developer he could find and as a result he and Rich Thometz joined together to form BurnBrae. In addition to his legal and real estate activities, he is very involved in the Jewish community, having served as president of a number of Washington D.C. Jewish charitable organizations, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington and the United Jewish Endowment Fund. For a period of ten years he was a director of Eagle Bank and the bank’s holding company Eagle Bancorp. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Yale Law School.
